Travel Agency Bookkeeper
Deposits, suppliers, refunds, and two currencies for a busy travel office.
Location: Work from home, Philippines
Schedule: Full time, Sunday to Thursday
Hours: About 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM Philippine time
Pay: Very well paid, plus bonuses
How we hire: you will record your voice answering a real work scenario, and you will show us work you did (a screen recording or a sample). We do this so we only meet people who can already do the job. If that feels like too much, this is not the seat.
Who we are
We are a travel office in Israel. We book flights, hotels, car rentals and apartments for our clients. Sales already happens. Ticketing already happens. The open seat is the books: guest money, supplier money, refunds, and a weekly rec that matches the bank. You work Sundays. Your weekend is Friday and Saturday.
What you will do
- Capture every guest deposit, supplier invoice, refund, and payout the day it happens
- Keep guest deposits, supplier payables, and revenue in the right buckets — they are not the same thing
- Reconcile Mercury (USD) and any ILS accounts every week so a stranger can follow the trail
- Flag mismatches the same day: missing invoices, cash that never hit the bank, airline debit memos, card fees
- Give sales a clean number for commissions and give the owners a clean number for profit
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years bookkeeping as your actual job, with at least 1 year inside a travel agency, airline, OTA, or hotel
- You have personally finished weekly bank recs in QuickBooks Online or Xero
- You are comfortable with more than one currency
- Fluent English, spoken and written — we will hear you before we meet you
- A reliable computer, fast internet, backup internet and backup power
- Two references from bookkeeping or travel-finance work

- IATA / BSP or ARC settlement reports
- Mercury, Wise, Payoneer, or Stripe payouts
- You have cleaned up a mess someone else left
- You already know that a hotel deposit is a liability until the guest stays
